ICF Presented With Children's Hospital's Crystal Heart Award
At the Central Council Meeting on Saturday, February 9, 2008 the Bertha Wright Society of Children's Hospital & Research Center Foundation in Oakland, CA presented the Italian Catholic Federation the Crystal Heart award.
Director of Foundation Relations, Jonathan Miller handed the beautiful crystal heart to Grand President Mike Rossi who accepted the award on behalf of the ICF.
Also present at the CC meeting were Thalassemia Outreach Coordinator Laurice Levine and Medical Director of Hematology/Oncology Dr. Elliot Vichinsky.
"Your years of generous contributions aren't just seen in the items purchased, but in the lives saves and the improvements in patient care," said Dr. Vichinsky. "If only there were more organizations like yours."
The Bertha Wright Society bears the name of the remarkable nurse whose vision of quality healthcare for all children was nurtured to become Children's Hospital. Members of the Bertha Wight Society are the generous and visionary friends whose sustained philanthropy creates bedrock of support for the pediatric health sciences and benefits countess children in the community and around the world.
