Grand President's Message by Michael Rossi This June is a great time for the ICF! I am very happy to announce that we have two new branches in the Federation. Branch 434 was installed in Tucson, AZ on June 7 and Branch 435 was installed in Morgan Hill, CA on May 24. I see in these new members the excitement and hope for their future in the ICF. God bless and guide both branches as they become part of our ICF family. Why do people join the ICF? What is their motivation? There are many reasons to join our Federation. The ICF gives us numerous opportunities to carry out the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every Sunday we are sent forth from mass to walk in His footsteps and show the world what it means to be Catholic. Every time we donate to a charity, support a fundraiser, pray together, and help our fellow man, we are acting out the gospel. The ICF gives us this opportunity. I think one of the most important advantages of the ICF is that you are joining a second family. When we were children, the mothers of our friends in the neighborhood probably took you in as one of their own. They looked after you, they fed you, and they treated you like one of their own children. The ICF is like this. We all have aches and pains, and we mourn the loss of loved ones. How many of our friends have become lonely couch potatoes? Research shows that being socially active helps keep the blues away. Invite them to join the ICF and help them change their lives. Many of our members find out that the golden years are indeed golden in the ICF. From dinners, to outings, to supporting the church and charities, once you are involved in the ICF, it is hard to be bored. To me, happiness is getting out and being with people. Give it a try yourself. Please wish all the fathers in your family, including your ICF family, a happy and blessed Father's Day. Marcie's year of teaching will soon be over for the summer, and we have some great plans. I hope you too can take advantage of the summer months. Marcie and I hope your summer will be a great one too.
