Grand President's Address by Michael Rossi Summer is a time to relax, do some traveling and take some time off. Branches and districts are enjoying their summer picnics, which gives some respite from the usual monthly business. Marcie and I are also enjoying some hard-earned vacation time. I wish it could last longer, but alas it will be back to work before we know it. Summer is still a busy time for the ICF. A lot is happening. The membership drive ended June 30, and produced some new front runners. Scholarships will be awarded to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year college students in August. Branch apostolate reports are due in July and will show the good work the ICF does. Preparations for the Golf Tournament and Bingo are well under way. Donations for Cooley's Anemia, Gifts of Love, and Scholarship are pouring in before the Convention. A substantial donation will be made to the victims of the L'Aquila, Italy earthquake, thanks to the members of the Federation. Your generosity and dedication never cease to amaze me. The Convention Directors and the Santa Clara District Committee are hard at work preparing for a wonderful convention in San Jose. The Convention award winners have been selected and will be presented at Convention. All events have been carefully planned to make it a memorable weekend for those who attend. Please try to attend if you are able and you will be enthused by the spirit that exists during the Convention. I've enjoyed being your Grand President for the past two years. Alas, all good things come to an end as my term ends in September. I appreciate very much the committee members who have served the Federation during my presidency. With good people like you working with me, I feel that we have made a difference in the success of the ICF. I especially appreciate all of you, the members. You have been welcoming and gracious to Marcie and me. I appreciate your friendship and support. I will always be there with you working for the Federation. I hope your summer is a good one. I look forward to seeing you at Convention where we will plan for a stronger and more successful future for the Italian Catholic Federation.
