Branch 434 in Tucson, Arizona Joins the Growing ICF Family
The evening of June 7, 2008 was truly memorable with the initiation and inauguration of Branch 434 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Tucson, AZ. Grand President Michael Rossi officiated at the event which saw 35 new members join the Italian Catholic Federation. More are expected in the fall. The festivities began with Mass at 5pm followed by the presentation of the branch banner, the initiation of members, and the installation of the officers. Mistress of Ceremonies Carmen Kilcullen and Pastor Father Joseph Lombardo welcomed the guests. Father reaffirmed his support for the branch and stated that we will see steady growth. CC member David Botta and former CC member Al Bernardi served as the marshals.
The officers are as follows:
Chaplain - Father Joseph Lombardo; President - Donna Raffanti; Vice President - Judy Crespo; Secretary - Loretta Brevaire; Treasurer - Dwaine Thompson; Orator - Daniel Ford; Trustees - Kellee Ford, Josephine Malkentzos, Louise Thompson; Sentinel - Michael Raffanti.
Central Council member David Botta will be the branch deputy.
President Donna Raffanti welcomed everyone and stated her pleasure to see a branch at this parish. She also foresees future growth.
The branch also received a congratulatory letter from Bishop Gerald Kicanas, Bishop of the Tucson Diocese. In his letter, Bishop Kicanas expressed his delight at having another branch in the diocese and wished the branch well and will remember it in his prayers.
A potluck dinner and raffle (for the branch treasury) followed the formal festivities.
The Expansion Committee wishes to express its thanks to Father Lombardo for his support and cooperation, to Al Bernardi for his help in starting the branch, to Jan Karp for her valued assistance, to Judy Sender of Br. 425 and Henry Fleischmann of Br. 433 for their help in the ceremony and to GP Michael Rossi, the presiding officer. We also appreciate all the hard work of President Donna and the members of Br. 434 in the planning of the evening.
