New Year -- New Year Resolutions
Resolutions are a part of the New Year. Some common ones: loose weight, stop smoking, and stop excessive drinking.
We start with good intentions but for some reason eventually we give in. We don't lose weight or stop smoking or drinking too much.
Why don't we follow through on our resolutions? We are just not motivated enough. What moves us to action is determined by what is important to us, such as, a loved one, wife, children, family or dear friends! We would do anything for them: sacrifice our very being to help the person or persons most dear to us.
Who is the most dear of all our dear loved ones? The obvious answer is JESUS. He is the best of all our best friends. He, it is who loves us more than we love ourselves. He proved it. He died for us. Even now his love is always present, always perfect. Wow! How fortunate we are to have someone so much in love with us, someone who is LOVE itself.
With that kind of love, that kind of motivation, we cannot help but succeed in our resolutions. Put Jesus first in our lives. Everything else flows from him. The problems, the hurts, the pains, the rejections all disappear. With the love of Jesus, nothing else matters.
What a wonderful life to look forward to in the NEW YEAR!
