  Grand President's Award:Carla Del Carlo The Glue That Holds Her Branch Together Carla Del Carlo is recognized as one who devotes time and energy to promote the philosophy and programs of the Italian Catholic Federation. As the many letters stated, she is the embodiment of what it means to be an Italian and a Catholic. She exemplifies the Federation motto, "Ignem veni mittere" - "I have come to light a fire". She has served as president of Branch 401 for 14 years, supporting all the programs and generous to all the needs of the branch. She is said to be the "glue" that holds the branch together. On the district level, she has served as 2nd Vice President and Trustee. She supports all of the branches in the San Mateo District, helping in any way she can with their activities. Her pastor describes her as "Carla is ICF". She was successful in bringing her branch and branch #173 together for a Sunday Mass and Brunch, which has become a Spring Time tradition. She is a tower of strength and a role model as she leads with patience, understanding and a vibrant personality. Because of these attributes, she is able to recruit new members and keep members involved. Carla is the kind of member that every branch president would be happy to have in his/her branch. For 50 years, she has assisted Fr. Efram Trettel, OFM in his weekly television program. Fr. Trettel says of Carla, "Her enthusiasm in all that relates to family and faith has been a source of joyful activities, always proud of her Italian Heritage". She and her husband, Adolpho, are very active members of St. Dunstan Church in Millbrae, Ca. You can often find both of them in the kitchen, providing pots and pans, recipes and cooking dinners. Carla is so "Italian" that she belongs to other clubs including Sons of Italy, Associazione Liguri Nel Mondo. She is also active in parish clubs, such as Banner of Love Ladies Auxiliary and offers her help at the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption in San Francisco. Carla is devoted to her Motherland and her God. The Italian Catholic Federation is proud to present the Grand President Award to Carla Del Carlo.
