  Grand President's Addressby Michael Rossi 
Welcome to the 79th annual Convention in San Jose, California.
This year we celebrate 85 years of the Federation and it has been a true labor of love, loyalty and devotion to our heritage and our faith. This year's Convention theme "85 Years…the Dream Lives On" reminds us that we have a strong heritage of living our faith through the Italian Catholic Federation. We are committed to continue the dream our founders had so many years ago. Each year I tout the Convention as being a wonderful place for old friends to meet up and new friends to be made. It reminds me of a large family reunion; after all, we are family. This isn't just something I say, but it is from my own personal experience. Since I first started attending Conventions 20 years ago, I look forward to this time as being the once per year opportunity to see different friends from different branches and states in one place at one time. There is nothing else like it. It is truly a family reunion. The Convention Directors and the Santa Clara District Committee have worked tirelessly to prepare a wonderful Convention. I give my heartfelt gratitude to all of them. All events have been carefully planned to make it a memorable weekend for those who attend. Please try to attend if you are able and you will be enthused by the spirit that exists during the Convention. My hope is that your branch delegates will return from the Convention invigorated, motivated, and they will share those feelings with all the members. I've enjoyed being your Grand President for the past two years. Alas, all good things come to an end as my term ends after the Convention. I am so grateful for the support of the Central Council officers and members, the many committee chairs, the office staff, the Bollettino editor, and the clergy. I am especially grateful to all of you, the members. Marcie and I have met so many wonderful people. We will cherish the memories for the rest of our lives. I hope your summer was a good one. I am looking forward to the Convention where we will plan for a stronger and more successful future for the Italian Catholic Federation. My best wishes to all of you.
