Grand President's Address by Leonard Rossi Welcome to the 77th Annual National Convention of The Italian Catholic Federation. For the first time, our convention is being held in the beautiful state of Arizona. It is indeed fitting that here in the city of Scottsdale; the theme of our convention is "We Thirst For The Lord". The Convention Directors Committee has worked very hard to insure that this convention will be most memorable. Numerous workshops have been scheduled that will deal with important facets of the Italian Catholic Federation. The delegates are expected to attend the workshops and general sessions. However, I would like to extend an invitation for everyone to take part in the workshops. Come and listen to the advice offered by the panelists. But also be prepared to add your own comments and questions in order to make the workshops meaningful for everyone. Only the delegates may speak at the general sessions, but you are invited to attend and listen to the debates and information that is being discussed. I encourage all of you to attend the daily liturgies and especially our concelebrated Mass that will be held on Sunday afternoon. This is always a very spiritual occasion and is the most important part of the convention. The weekend will also have its social time. Make every effort to attend the numerous socials that the Convention Directors Committee has planned. I would like to thank the committee members and especially the chairperson David Botta for a job well done. Finally, this will be my last column as your Grand President. It has truly been an honor and a privilege serving the Federation in this capacity. I have met such wonderful people and have formed new friendships with all of them. I would like to thank my fellow Central Council Members for their advice and assistance during these past two years. God bless you. And, God bless the Italian Catholic Federation.
